  • Karnes County Facility Security

    Department: Karnes County Sheriff Office

    Reports to: Karnes County Sheriff

    Salary: $50,000 annually, plus benefits and uniform allowance

    Karnes County is hiring for a Facility Security position that responsibilities will be to provide security for the occupants and public visitors of the Karnes County Courthouse and other county facilities.

    License/Certifications required:

    • Level IV Security Guard License
    • Valid Texas Driver License

    Conditions of Employment:

    • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
    • Must successfully complete physical and psychological examination.
    • Must successfully complete a background investigation.

  • Karnes County Emergency Management Coordinator

    Job Type: Full Time / Non-exempt

    Pay: $50,000 Annually – Hourly: $24.04

    Reports To: County Judge

    Karnes County is hiring for a Emergency Management Coordinator. This position will administer the Office of Emergency Management, and maintain comprehensive and integrated emergency management planning that coordinates community resources for the purpose of protecting lives, property
    and the environment through mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery from all natural and manmade hazards that may impact the County.

    Qualifications/Experience/Certifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety or Administration or related field.
    • 3-5 years coordinating, planning, consulting or evaluating programs for the purpose of enhancing overall safety and health in an organization experience.
    • Valid Texas Driver License
    • ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 & 800
    • Criminal background check
    • Drug Test
    • MVR

    • Road & Bridge Inspector I

      The Karnes County Road & Bridge Department is hiring for a full-time Inspector I position that inspects construction methods and workmanship to ensure third party contractors build various types of roadway infrastructure projects in accordance with plans and specifications and makes decisions related to the direction of the progress of work of all parties and with regard to the resolution of construction questions and problems. The inspector must be capable of multi-tasking and of overseeing and serving as the County's primary on-site representative for multiple construction inspection activities for very large and complex projects for capital improvement, permit, and maintenance projects in Karnes County. May lead the work of technical and professional employees and be responsible for training others. Responsible to a licensed professional engineer who has full authority for approval of all work.

  • Job Type: Part-Time/Summer

    Pay Scale: $12.00 per hour

     

    Library/Summer Aide will be under the supervision of the Library Director. In such case the Director is out, Library /Summer Aide will be supervised under the direction of the Library Clerk. Aide’s duties will include helping library patrons/visitors in finding materials, cataloging materials, and any other library duties requested by the Library Director or Library Clerk.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma
    • Prior experience using a desktop computer
    • Prior exposure to working in library setting (preferred)
