  • Karnes County HR Coordinator

    Job Type: Full Time / Non-exempt

    Pay: $40,000 Annually – Hourly: $19.23

    Reports To: HR Director

     

    Under general supervision, the HR Coordinator performs complex and confidential routine administrative duties in direct support of all Human Resources department functions. Work includes providing administrative support and providing assistance with the daily operation of the county Human Resources department. The Human Resources Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources. The HR Coordinator will work cohesively with the HR Director as a unified team to ensure that all HR functions are successfully executed in a timely manner.

  • The Karnes County Sheriff Department is hiring for a full-time maintenance position that will be responsible for the maintaining and daily repairs of the Sheriff Department offices and Karnes County Jail.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Responsible for fixing, repairing and building any items that are needed to run the Karnes County Sheriff department offices and Karnes County Jail
    • Responsible for outside grounds to include mowing, edging and maintaining plants
    • Order and maintain adequate supplies for the jail
    • Maintain all paperwork associated with maintaining the facilities
    • Utilize available inmate labor required to keep the facilities in good condition

    Physical Demands / Working Conditions

    • Frequent standing
    • Frequent walking
    • Frequent heavy work
    • Constant eye/hand coordination
    • Occasional lifting or carrying

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Basic reading skills
    • Report writing skills
    • Interpersonal skills
    • At least 6 months experience
    • Pre-employment drug screening and background check
    • Preferred TCOLE jailers license

  • The Karnes County Sheriff Department is hiring for a full-time LVN position that will be responsible for the daily medical needs for all the inmates incarcerated in the Karnes County Jail.

    Salary:   $55,105

    Uniforms:   $1,200

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the daily monitoring and checking of inmates medical conditions
    • Relaying information to the doctor under contract with Karnes County
    • Responsible for the medical records for each inmate and the proper documentation of records
    • Responsible for all inmate medications dispensed or maintained
    • Responsible for the security of all medications
    • Provide guidance, instruction and direction to co-workers
    • Schedule, assign and/or coordinate work of others
    • Develop work procedures and training for others

    Requirements

    • Medication skills
    • 5-7 years of experience (preferred)
